DIGITAL PHOTOGEOLOGY, PSEUDO-STEREOSCOPIC SATELLITE IMAGERY INTERPRETATION AND REGOLITH LAND MANAGEMENT. ALL YOUR AERIAL PHOTO & SATELLITE IMAGERY MAPPING REQUIREMENTS USING PHOTOGRAMMETRY, GIS, MAPINFO AND DEM SOFTWARE
We interpret aerial photographs and satellite imagery and produce geological maps for mining and exploration for public and private companies, government agencies, land managers and Landcare groups. Aerial photographs are stereoscopically interpreted and the data are plotted on clear film overlays. Once the entire map area has been interpreted these data are coded in Geographic Information Systems format (GIS) and are digitised and rectified using digital photogrammetric software. Ground control is from calculated reference points in the aerial photo and Geodata 9-second Digital Elevation Model (DEM) of Australia. In countries where a DEM is not available we can construct a DEM from topographic contours, spot height or Global Positional System (GPS) data.
The rectified and merged map(s) are transferred to MapInfo for addition of map symbols, coloured polygons and polylines, locality names, legends and surrounds. The map has a labelled metric grid with spacing suitable for the scale of the map. For example, a map at 1:100000 scale is provided with a 1000 metre grid. Field checking is simplified because all locations can be identified by GPS. Large scale maps with 50-metre or 10-metre grids have been produced providing very accurate base maps for small mineral leases and mine sites.
Gamma ray logging
In early 2006 the company purchased gamma ray logging equipment for use in mineral exploration drill holes. Drill supervision, geological and gamma ray logging are additional contract services provided by BR Senior & Associates.
